Critical travel assistance
In 2020, the North Bay Cancer Alliance partnered with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to fund a travel assistance program. NBCA continues that work today.
Children being treated for blood cancers in the north bay counties must travel long distances for treatment, sometimes every day for weeks at a time. This adds to the pressures on families as parents juggle work and childcare for siblings.
Driven to Care
The work of providing transportation assistance continues with NBCA’s Driven to Care sponsorship program.
Businesses from the automotive industry ask their customers to make small contributions to the Driven to Care program which provides travel assistance to people undergoing cancer treatment.
Ascent on Cancer
In 2021 NBCA Executive Director Kent Corley organized Ascent on Cancer to honor support cancer patients. More information about the climb up Mount San Jacinto and a short film about the project can be found at the Ascent on Cancer website.
