Our Beginning
In 2005, Redwood Regional Medical Group established North Bay Cancer Alliance (NBCA) as a nonprofit organization to enhance cancer care through physician education, research, community outreach, and direct support for cancer patients and their families.
Community-based
Initially, NBCA’s Board of Directors was composed of physicians. However, in 2008, the decision was made to transition to a community-based board, better reflecting the needs and diversity of those we serve.
An Essential Part of the North Bay Oncology Community
Over the years, NBCA has grown into an essential part of the North Bay’s oncology community. We work closely with every oncology center across Marin, Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino, and Napa counties, addressing the gaps in care and support for cancer patients.
Helping Low-income Cancer Patients
Today, our primary focus is on assisting low-income cancer patients. We ensure they remain in treatment by providing free rides to medical appointments, helping them keep food on the table, and addressing many other urgent needs.
Oncology Professionals Gratitude Day
Each year, we honor the dedication and hard work of oncology professionals through our Oncology Professionals Gratitude Day, a heartfelt tradition that celebrates the individuals who deliver vital care to cancer patients daily.
Providing a Safety Net for Patients
NBCA is unique in our region. While major hospital systems have advanced technologies to support patients, they often lack resources to address practical barriers, such as ensuring disadvantaged patients can get to their appointments. That’s where NBCA steps in—as a safety net for patients and a trusted partner for oncology professionals.
