Driven to Care

Helping Cancer Patients to Treatment

Cancer is a journey with many twists and turns. Patients often need treatment every day—sometimes for weeks at a time.

That means they depend on a reliable car or a dependable ride. But did you know that lack of transportation is one of the biggest barriers cancer patients face?

Your business keeps cars safe and on the road. NBCA helps patients get to treatment. Together, we can make sure no patient misses a lifesaving appointment because they don’t have a ride.

Driven to Care began with a simple but powerful gesture

Ben Enns, Director of People and Mission at OILSTOP Drive-Thru Oil Change, reached out to let us know that his team had chosen to support NBCA by inviting their guests to add $1 to their bill to help local cancer patients. This act of kindness not only made a financial impact—it inspired the creation of Driven to Care and opened the door to partnerships with others in the automotive industry. With their heart in the right place, OILSTOP has made a profound difference to us as they have in all their communities.

Here’s how it works:

With a simple laminated half-sheet, you or your team can let customers know about your partnership with NBCA and ask if they’d like to add just $1 to their bill to support cancer patients.

If they say yes, they’re thanked and receive a sticker that says, “I helped a cancer patient today.”

At the end of each month or quarter, your company tallies the donations and sends a check to NBCA.

That’s it. A simple ask that makes a real impact.

With these funds, NBCA provides free rides to treatment, gas money, and even financial help for urgent car repairs, tires, or service—whatever it takes to keep patients on the road to recovery.

This program is completely free for your business and an easy way to show your commitment to the community, engage with your customers, and, most importantly, help cancer patients in need.

At NBCA, we have a saying: “The most important part of an oncology appointment… is getting there.”

I see this every day as I work to make sure cancer patients get the care they need. I invite your company to join us in this mission.

With one simple ask, you can make a huge difference in the lives of cancer patients right here in our community.
