Dear Sonoma County Business Owner,

Have you or somebody you love or care about been diagnosed with breast or ovarian cancer? All of us are touched in some way and we have a local project that needs your help!

North Bay Cancer Alliance is proud to announce our 2nd Annual “Swinging for SCRAPPI” golf and tennis tournament with a wine country luncheon and auction. This year’s event will return to the Fountaingrove Golf and Athletic Club on Thursday, September 23, 2010. Over 1,600 women have been helped by the $50,000 raised at last year’s inaugural sold out event!

Funds raised at this event help local women, regardless of insurance or income, learn their personal risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer and how they can reduce this risk. This is important because:

• 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer.
• More than 500,000 women carry genetic mutations that greatly increase the risk of both breast and  ovarian cancer.
• Risk assessment can lead to the prevention of breast and ovarian cancer.

Cancer risk assessment services provided by SCRAPPI are free of charge because of a grant from North Bay Cancer Alliance. Funds raised from “Swinging for SCRAPPI” allow us to continue this vital community service for women in Sonoma County and help to pay genetic testing costs for uninsured and low income women. You can help by choosing to be a sponsor, by donating to our silent and live auctions, by playing golf, tennis, or by joining us for the luncheon.

As it is our only fundraising event of the year, we ask you to include SCRAPPI while planning your 2010 budget and your community giving.
